Construction
- When will construction begin?
- Construction will begin after school is released for the summer. (2024) Some preliminary work might begin earlier.
- When will the construction of Phase I be completed?
- The goal is to have construction completed for the start of the 2025-26 school year.
- What will Phase I look like and what will be included in this phase?
- Additional information regarding Phase I and the entire project at MakingaPlace.com.
- What facilities will Phase I of the project include?
- Phase I will include 22 classrooms, a cafeteria/auditorium, a library and resource center, administration offices, a new parking lot, an outdoor commons area, and a new east-facing entrance to the high school.
- After construction of Phase I is complete, what will the parking and drop off/pickup situation be?
- After construction of Phase I is complete, there will be a new drop off and pick up procedure for middle school and high school located at the high school campus. We will lose a total of five parking spaces from what we currently have after Phase I is completed.
Parking
- Will the east paved parking lot at the high school be available for use?
- The east paved parking lot (“senior lot”) will be closed due to construction and not available for parking use during construction.
- Will there be handicapped parking at the high school?
- Yes, there will be four handicapped parking spaces at the high school by the flagpole.
- Who is allowed to park in the finance parking lot?
- The finance parking lot (east of the elementary gym) will be for staff use only.
- Can vehicles park at the EG Ross parking lot?
- Permission has been given to use their staff parking lot after 3:30 pm. The gate will be locked at 10:30 pm.
- Will parking be available at the elementary school for K-5th grade?
- There will not be any parking available at the elementary school for K-5th grade.
- Are any students allowed to park at the middle school?
- A limited number of students will be allowed to park at the middle school. All students who have been given permission (high school office) to park at the MS will be given a special tag to display in their car.
- Can I park at local businesses that are located on Palomas?
- Students are not allowed to park at businesses that are located on Palomas.
- Will the businesses on Palomas be notified of the construction and that students and parents are not allowed to park on their property?
- Out of courtesy, we will notify the businesses along Palomas about our construction and that students or parents are not allowed to park in their parking lot. We will give them security’s number to call and report any violators.
- Are students allowed to park and leave their vehicle at Grace Church during school hours?
- Yes, students are allowed to use Grace Church parking lot to park at Grace Church during school hours.
- Will high school students who drive to school be required to purchase a parking permit?
- Every student who drives will be required to purchase a $5.00 parking permit.

Is parking allowed along Palomas, and if so, what is the procedure?

Since Palomas is a public street, parking is allowed and is on a first come, first serve basis.

Drop Off / Pick Up
- Can I drop off and pick up my middle school or high school student at Hope?
- Due to the construction, all middle and high school students who need to be dropped off or picked up will need to use the shuttle that is provided to and from Grace Church. There will not be any drop-off/pick-up lanes available for middle school and high school students at the Hope campus.
- Can I drop off or pick up my student at the middle school campus?
- No, because of traffic congestion, this is not an area where students can be picked up or dropped off. We will not be closing the MS gate but will have someone on duty to monitor
- Can I drop off/pick up at the north pull-through by the high school gym?
- The north pull-through by the gym will be blocked off in the morning until 8:45 am. It is only to be used for a pull-through or visitor parking between 8:45 am-2:30 pm. This area is to be used for the shuttle buses only and cannot be used for drop off/pick up.
- Can I drop off and pick up my high school student using the elementary drop-off/pick-up lane?
- HS parents can only drop off HS students at the elementary campus if they also have an elementary student in the car.
- Can I drop off my student along Palomas or Louisiana?
- Dropping off or picking up students along Louisiana or Palomas is not allowed. This presents a dangerous situation and is prohibited.
- Can I use the ES drop-off for my MS and/or HS students?
- Families with students on the MS and HS campuses can use ES drop-off if they have a Hope ES student. The ES drop-off cannot be used for MS/HS students who do not have a Hope ES sibling.
- Should I plan on allowing extra time in the morning for my students to get to school on time?
- Plan a little bit of extra time into your schedule since drop off/pick up will not be allowed at the high school or middle school.
- If my student has to come late to school (Ex: a doctor’s appointment) and does not drive, where do I drop them off?
- Because of the challenges of transportation and parking during the construction period, we discourage coming late to school. However, if you need to drop off your student at school after school starts, MS students can be dropped off at the middle school, and high school students can be dropped off at the high school between 8:45 am-2:30 pm.
Shuttle
- Where will Hope provide shuttle service from?

- Shuttle service will be provided from Grace Church.
- Where is Grace Church located?
- Grace Church is located on the corner of Louisiana and San Antonio Blvd. Approximately .8 miles from Hope.
- Will there be a charge for the shuttle service?
- There will not be a charge for using the shuttle service.
- How many shuttle buses will be used to shuttle students from Grace Church?
- We have contracted for two shuttle buses to transport students in the morning and afternoon for the next school year.
- Where will the shuttle buses be picking up and dropping off students at Hope?
- All middle school and high school students will be dropped off and picked up at the north pull-through by the high school gym.
- What time will the shuttle buses run?
- The shuttle busses will run from 7:15-8:30 am and 3:00-4:15 pm.
- What about on half days?
- 7:15-8:30 am and 11:30 am-12:45 pm.
- What time will the shuttle busses run on 2-hour delay days?
- 9:15-10:30 am and 3:00-4:15 pm.
- What if my student misses the last shuttle of the day to Grace Church?
- Students who miss the shuttle at the end of the day will have to call their parents and be picked up.
- Can I drop off my elementary student at Grace Church to ride the shuttle?
- Elementary students are not allowed to ride the shuttle.
- What if my student drives to school and has to come to school later than the last shuttle leaves Grace Church? (Ex: a doctor’s appointment)
- Because of the challenges of transportation and parking during the construction period, we discourage coming late to school. However, if a student drives and has to come late to school and needs to park at Grace Church, please have the student call the high school office when they arrive at Grace Church and they will be picked up by a school official in the school suburban or shuttle bus.
Security
- Will there be a security presence at Grace Church?
- Security will be present at Grace Church during shuttle operating hours. (7:15-8:30 am and 3:00-4:15 pm)
- What will happen if a parent is not at Grace Church after the normal operating hours for the shuttle?
- If parents are not at Grace Church to pick up their child after the last shuttle leaves, security will stay with them until a parent comes to pick them up. If they have not come after 15 minutes, security will drive them back to school and they must check in at the Middle School study hall. Parents will be charged if the student has to go to study hall. Security will take the Hope shuttle to Grace Church in the afternoons in case students need to be brought back to school.
- What if I drop off my student at Grace Church in the morning and they miss the last shuttle?
- If a student misses the shuttle in the morning, security will make sure that no students are left at Grace in the morning before coming back to school. If there is a student(s), security will bring them back to school in the morning to the appropriate campus.
Grace Church
- Where will students go during inclement weather while waiting for the shuttle?
- Students can get out of the inclement weather at Grace Church by going under the attached porch.
- Do parents need to stay with their students while waiting for the shuttle?
- Parents do not need to stay with their children at Grace Church if they are dropped off during the normal shuttle operating hours. (7:15-8:30 am and 3:00-4:15 pm)
- Are students allowed inside Grace Church?
- Students are not allowed inside Grace Church.
- Will my child be left alone at Grace Church?
- Students who are dropped off and picked up during normal shuttle operating hours will not be left alone without supervision. If students are dropped off before normal shuttle operating hours, it is the parent's responsibility to stay with the student until Hope staff arrives.
- Will restrooms be available at Grace Church?
- Hope will supply one portable toilet w/ handwashing at Grace Church. It is to be kept locked and security will have the key to open it if someone needs to use it.
- Will there be clear signage at Grace Church so I know where to park or drop off?
- Security will have the appropriate signage displayed at Grace Church.
Athletics / After School Activities
- What if an athlete needs to leave early for a game or competition and their car is parked at Grace Church?
- For students who have athletic events or competitions during the day, students will be transported in the Hope Suburban or shuttle to Grace Church to get their cars.
- Where will athletes load the suburban or Hope shuttle to be transported to Grace Church during school hours?
- The shuttle or suburban will be located in the north pull-through by the gym.
- When a team/club/group arrives back from their competition/program/event, how will the students retrieve their vehicles? Meet up with their ride?
- It will be the responsibility of the head coach/supervisor/sponsor to make sure that all their students get to their vehicles/ride safely.
- Which parking lots will be available for parking for athletic or event parking?
- The following parking lots will be available for athletic event parking after 4:00.
- Hope Middle School
- Finance Parking Lot
- EG Ross Parking Lot (only after 3:30 pm)
- West Elementary Parking Lot
- Along Palomas
- What time of day will the first athletic events begin?
- Because of parking/traffic limitations, all athletic event starting times will begin no earlier than 4:00 pm.
- If I have practice in the morning at the high school gym, where will I park?
- Athletes who have early morning practice in the high school gym will have to park along Palomas. (first come first serve)

What is the procedure if a high school student is parked at Grace Church and needs to leave early from school?

The student will need to notify the high school office as early as possible in the day when they must leave and the school will provide transportation to Grace Church to pick up their vehicle.
