Board of Directors

Thomas Crow is a registered investment advisor and president and owner of Crow Financial Advisors in Albuquerque. He earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix in Albuquerque in 1998 and Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a concentration in laser and electro-optics from NMSU in 1990. Prior to joining, and eventually owning what is now Crow Financial Advisors, Tom worked as a laser engineer and division director at Decade Optical Systems. Tom joined Hope Christian School Board of Directors in 2003 and currently serves as President and Chairman of Hope Foundation, Inc. where he’s held membership since 2002.  He is a Qualified Kingdom Advisor, is active in the Albuquerque Chapter, and he and his wife Vicki have been Crown Financial Small Group leaders.  Tom is also musically talented, singing and leading a praise and worship band called Emmaus at Faith Lutheran Church. Tom also sings and holds a board position with Quintessence: Choral Artists of the Southwest. Tom and Vicki have three children, all of whom attended Hope Christian School.Tom’s burning desire is that everyone would be encouraged by his example and “take hold of the life that is truly life” through stewardship.
Valeta King
Valeta King has a special connection to Hope Christian school, as she attended the school's first day in 1976. After graduating from Hope, she earned a BS Degree in Psychology from EMU in Harrisonburg, VA. Valeta met her husband, Rusty King, while working at Faith Comes By Hearing Ministry, and they have raised three children, with their youngest graduating from Hope in 2018. Currently, Valeta works as an Administrative Specialist in the ministry's Donor Engagement department. She and her family attend Desert Springs Church and Valeta participates in her HOA as a member of the Welcome Committee. Valeta feels deeply honored to serve on the board of Hope Christian School, an institution that provided her with a strong educational and spiritual foundation.
Greg Kruse graduated from Hope Christian School in 1982, as did both of his children, in 2010 and 2014 respectively.  He received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico in 1986 and his MBA degree from the University of Phoenix in 2001. Greg is currently the President of Kruse Enterprises, LLC, a building products wholesale and consulting company headquartered in Albuquerque that he started with his father and has continued running since his father's passing in 2001. Prior to starting Kruse Enterprises, Greg was with Sagebrush Sales, Inc. a lumber and building products company headquartered in Albuquerque, where he was promoted to Vice President of the company in 1992 and ultimately President in 1995.  Greg has served in several church ministry positions through the years, and he has been married to his wife Whitney for over 30 years.
Lance Milford had the privilege of attending Hope Christian School in 1981 upon its expansion of a Middle School and graduated in 1988. Lance went on to the University of New Mexico and graduated with a degree in Political Science. While there he was a member of the Lobo basketball team. He has been a senior clinical specialist with Genentech Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, for the last 17 years. He has helped to provide innovative biologic medicines for patients with a variety of diseases. He has also served in numerous capacities in local churches and is an active member in the community. He is married to Lynette, the daughter of David Eggers - one of the three founders and original principal of Hope Christian School. They have three children - Dedrick, Brielle and Kendrick who have attended Hope Christian School. He genuinely loves the Hope community and wants to see it continue to flourish.
Tom Morris
Tom Morris serves as our newest board member.  He has served in a teaching capacity in the early days, and as the Headmaster from 2011-2017. Tom joined the HCS board in November 2022.
Donald Swaim has been with the Hope Christian School Board since 1990, and currently serves as Board Chair. His vast experience in Tax Law, Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law has earned him recognition in the publication Best Lawyers in America and as a noted specialist by the New Mexico Board of Legal Specialization.  Don has received the highest AV rating available by Martindale-Hubbell. Don worked as a Certified Public Accountant with the Internal Revenue Service prior to becoming a lawyer. Don has served with several committees within the New Mexico State Bar, including chair positions in the Tax Section and the Estate Planning, Trusts, and Probate Specialization Committee. Additional professional associations include current membership with the New Mexico Estate Planning Council; New Mexico CPA Society; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; and a five year membership on the New Mexico Planned Giving Council where he served as president in 2000. Don has also held board positions with Hope Foundation from 1986-2012, Called Christians, Inc. and Faith Comes By Hearing.  He, also, currently serves on the board of Zia Trust, Inc. “I serve at Hope because I believe a Christ-centered education is the best education a child can receive.” 
 
 
 
Jim Tate serves as Vice Chairman of the Hope Christian School Board of Directors and has been a board member since 1995.
