  • ABSENCES AND SCHOOL CLOSURES

    What do I do if my child will not be in school?
    If your child is ill, call your campus before 8:30 a.m. each day that your child is out sick.

    How will we know if there is a snow day or delayed schedule?

    Two-Hour Delays are called when severe weather causes conditions that would endanger student and school employee safety.
    1. Students will be on a 2-hour delay.  ES/PS 10:15 a.m. MS 9:40 a.m. HS 9:55 a.m. 
    2. In the event one of our campuses is in distance learning, virtual learning will begin on a 2-hour delay. Please see bell schedule below.
    3. East mountain bus will continue to run on a 2-hour delay. *
    4. Dismissal time will be at the regular scheduled time.
    5. Before school care for the ES will be available starting at 9:00 a.m. 
    6. Before school care for the PS will be available starting at 9:30 a.m.
    7. After school care/ study hall will be available until 6:00 p.m. 
    8. Activities will resume as scheduled. 
    Cancellation is called when the weather conditions continue to progress to the point that makes it necessary to close the school.
    1. In the event of cancellation, all students, virtual and in person will not have classes.  
    2. After school care will NOT be available.
    3. Activities will be cancelled for the remainder of the day.
    Early Dismissal is called when the weather conditions progress to the point that makes it necessary to close the school after school has started. 
    1. In the event of early dismissal, all students, virtual and in person will not have classes after the time of dismissal.
    2. East mountain bus will continue to run.
    3. After school care/study hall will take place until 4:00 p.m.
    4. Activities will be cancelled for the remainder of the day. 
    *Depending on the severity of conditions, east mountain students and bus service may be on a different schedule. You will receive this information along with the initial 2-hour delay or notification.  
     

  • ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE

    Academic assistance is available for students K-12.  Check the Academics section of our web site for details.  
  • BILLING

    FACTS is the online tuition management system which handles all tuition and fees.  Lunch money management will continue to be managed through RenWeb.  Please ensure your student has a balance on this account so that they may purchase lunches at school.  Thank you for continuing to help us with our no-charge lunch program.  
  • CAFETERIA AND MEALS

    Cafeterias with hot food offerings are available on all campuses.  All lunch accounts will be maintained online through RenWeb and no cash is taken.  Thank you for keeping your student’s account current and helping us with our no-charge lunch policy.
  • CONTACTING AND EXCUSING STUDENTS

    How do I get an important message to my child during the school day?
    Please call the office of the campus your student is on and we will get a message to them.
     
    May my child call me from school?
    No cell phones may be used during school hours, but your student is welcome to come to the office and the office phone to contact you.
     
    How can I excuse my child from class for medical appointments?
    In Elementary and Middle School, parents must physically come into the office to sign their students out for appointments.  In High School, parents may call ahead or come in to sign their students out.
  • EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

    Extracurricular activities are offered on the Elementary, Middle School, and High School campuses.  Please check your specific campus section of the web site for details.
  • GENERAL INFORMATION

    The Student Handbook, updated each year, is a comprehensive source of information for all three campuses.  It may be found on the Admissions section of the web site as well as in the Resource Documents section of ParentsWeb.
  • HANDBOOKS

    The Student Handbooks for Preschool and K-12 as well as the Athletic Handbook may be found on the Admissions section of the web site as well as in the Resource Documents section of ParentsWeb.
  • LOCKERS AND BACKPACKS

    Lockers are assigned to Middle School and High School students by their respective campuses.  High Schoolers may choose their lockers early (before school begins) if they turn in their Physical forms by the due date.  
  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION

    Physical Education is part of the curricula on all three campuses.  PE Uniforms are required for Middle and High School students and may be ordered from our Student Store – the Dawg House.  At the high school level, other PE electives, such as weight training, are offered.  Please see the Curriculum button on the appropriate campus section of the web site for details.
  • TEXTBOOKS

    Textbooks are checked out by Middle and High School students from the HCS Library.  An annual non-refundable book usage fee of $100 is charged to all new and returning students.
