Dear Hope Families,
Today, Friday, March 27th, the New Mexico Public Education Department has closed on-site public school education for the remainder of the school year. Our Hope Christian School plan will be to continue teacher-led distance learning until we are able to return to school for in-person classes or we arrive at the end of the 2019-20 school year which has now be changed to Friday, May 15th.
School-related activities and events remain canceled or postponed. Students will be eligible to return to Hope when:
1.The local, federal, state government, or the public health department has not issued any mandates which would prohibit us from attending in-person classes.
2. It is determined that it is safe for our school community to attend classes on campus.
3. The earliest possible date for campuses to reopen would be Tuesday, April 14th. This is contingent on the standards listed above.
We have had the opportunity to experience many live video Zoom conferences with both teachers and students. It is encouraging to see students and teachers interacting with each other in real-time, while finding both are empowered through this interactive learning process.
Academic progress is an important part of the equation and we are committed to use this time to prepare our students for the next grade. Our administrators and teachers will continue to provide the leadership, curriculum, educational material, guidance and support that each student and class needs.
Please continue to pray and lift each other up as we navigate these ever-changing circumstances together for God’s glory.
