  • Q: Can parents help in their children's classrooms?

Yes. Parental involvement is encouraged and solicited by many teachers to assist with special lessons/projects, grading, field trips, etc. Opportunities to volunteer for Recess Duty, in classrooms, athletic events, concerts, plays and other activities are open to parents who pass a background check. Parents volunteering to drive on field trips are also required to complete a "Volunteer Driver" form. The background checks are required to be done each year on the academic school calendar (August to July). Please complete the background check online (link to the right). There is a nominal processing fee for the background checks.

Please see the Student Handbook for an expanded explanation of Parental Involvement. Also see the Parents section of our web site for more information on ways to get involved, volunteer guidelines and expectations, etc.
