Hope Christian School

Message from PSF President Phylis Wright

Welcome

Welcome to the Parents Page on the Hope Christian School (HCS) website!  My name is Phylis Wright and I am the 2012-13 president of our Parent Support Fellowship (PSF), “a group of volunteers that prayerfully serves to support the HCS community, all to the glory of God.”  There are many ways to get involved at our school.  PSF offers a variety of levels of commitment and is intended for all parents, grandparents and friends of Hope students to support the school through their Prayers, Time, Talents and Treasures

Prayers:  Every year, we hold a Prayer Walk and support the See You at the Pole and National Day of Prayer activities of the school.  There is also a Parents in Prayer group that meets each week to pray specifically for Hope community needs.  The Elementary Campus is working on building a Garden of Hope prayer spot; the Mid-School has parent and teacher volunteers praying with students or parents from 7:20-7:45 a.m.; and the High School is looking for parents to pray with students during lunch.

Time:  Please visit the Hope website by following this GET INVOLVED link – for a myriad of volunteer opportunities.  Each campus has a list that includes teacher appreciation, fundraisers and special events.  We are especially looking for a Photographer/Newsletter Contributor for each campus this year.  PSF also offers activities that are active at the beginning or end of the school year only.

Talents:  The PSF Board is always looking for new ways we can “prayerfully support the HCS community, all for the glory of God” and we invite you to participate.  Here are some of the PSF Teams already doing that:  Ambassadors, Business Networking, Elementary Recess Duty, Mid-School Lunch Duty, and K-6 Science Night.

Treasures:  While PSF holds various fundraisers or cost-based events on each campus throughout the year, there are a few opportunities to have fun and bless the school at the same time.  Restaurant Fellowship Days raise funds for ongoing operations and offer social time between Hope families.  Hope Cards are regular store gift cards where Hope PSF keeps a percentage of the face value.  These funds are used to operate PSF and provide quality events for low admission costs. PSF has also purchased capital improvement items for the school, such as new lockers and picnic tables at the High School, the shade structure and cafeteria acoustic tiles at the Mid-School, and books and computers for the Elementary School.

May God bless your family!
