Welcome
Welcome to the Parents Page on the Hope Christian School (HCS) website! My name is Phylis Wright and I am the 2011-12 president of our Parent Support Fellowship (PSF), “a group of volunteers that prayerfully serves to support the HCS community, all to the glory of God.” All parents, grandparents and friends of students at Hope Christian School are invited to bless the school by serving on one of the many volunteer teams of PSF. Following are some of the ways parents and others are coming alongside teachers and administrators in the school’s mission “to pray for, equip and send Christ-centered, passionate leaders to change the world.”
Parental Involvement in the Classroom
Parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s experiences at Hope. Opportunities to work in classrooms, attend field trips and other activities, particularly on the Preschool and Elementary campuses, are open to parents who have signed a Volunteer Guidelines form and, depending on the volunteer activity, have also completed a background check. (Background checks are coordinated through the Hope Business Office.) Children will be more productive and effective students when parent support is evident.
Lots of Ways to Get Involved
Besides volunteering in your child's classroom as Room Mom or paper grader, or as a chaperone for field trips, there are lots of other ways to get involved at Hope. From being an ambassador for a new family to planning campus events – or just praying for our school each day - you can make a difference in the lives of the children by getting involved. Parent Support Fellowship also offers opportunities to help teachers by filling in for recess or lunchroom duty and teacher appreciation activities – and if you want to start something new, there is a way to do that!
Check out the Parent Support Fellowship page to see all the teams already active or how to start a new venture.
May God bless your family!
Phylis Wright
2011-12 PSF President
