Meager Rations

Some of the most encouraging evidence that we are  fulfilling our Mission of equipping Christ-centered, passionate leaders to change the world, is the harvest of Meager Rations, a student led, non-profit, mission organization at Hope Christian High School, whose main goal is to impact the city of Albuquerque for Christ and to support the Ecuadorian church.  Click here to read more about Meager Rations through their web site ...

In addition to the outreach activities of Meager Rations on our high school campus, there are several more school-wide outreach activities in which Hope partners with established ministries to serve the city, the nation, the world.

Compassion International

Hope has been involved with the ministry of Compassion International since 2003.  It is organized by the student-led High School campus ministry of Meager Rations, but is a school-wide outreach.

Hope sponsors 13 Compassion International children from Ecuador.  Each grade level sponsors a specific child, for whom they collect money, write letters, and send gifts.

In additon, each summer a teach of HCHS students go to Ecuador to visit the children we sponsor and to participate in ministry activities such as teaching Vacation Bible School, helping to build churches, and so forth.

As Hope's relationship with the chuch in Ecuador has developed, we have also been blessed by visits from pastors in Ecuador who have been guest speakers in our Mid and High School chapel programs.

Operation Christmas Child

Hope Christian School has been partnering with Samaritan's Purse since 2003 in its Operation Christmas Child ministry, which brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.

Each year Hope collects 500 - 1000 boxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, which will be completed by Samaritan's Purse with the gospel in the recipient child's own language, and delivered to children worldwide at Christmastime.

This annual outreach project is a wonderful opportunity for Hope students to minister to other children and make a difference in their lives at Christmas, and for eternity.

Food Drive

Each year before Thanksgiving, Hope has a school-wide food drive to benefit Joy Junction, New Mexico's largest emergency homeless shelter.  This year, the Middle School alone collected over 2000 cans.  When the drive is complete, students and faculty will load many thousands of cans into a Joy Junction truck for transport and distribution to the homeless during the holidays.  It is a wonderful way for the students at Hope to bless others and be blessed.
