Hope Christian School Milestones

"Attempt something so BIG that unless God intervenes, it is bound to fail."

These challenging words hung on a banner in an old chapel at the original Hope High School campus thirty years ago. At that time, the future for Hope Christian School was but a dream placed in the hearts of dedicated men and women who wanted to build—on the corner stone of Christ—a nondenominational Christian school that offered education with values.
Today, Hope Christian School is the largest private school in the state of New Mexico and a thriving ministry that offers more than 1,400 students annually the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually. God did intervene, and He continues to challenge the Hope Community to provide excellence in academics and spiritual development, equipping tomorrow’s Christian leaders for the future.

Milestones  

1976

 A church facility in NE Albuquerque is purchased.  Hope High School opens with 54 students.
1977 Graduation exercises are held for four students from state-accredited Hope Christian High School.
1981 Classes are expanded to include middle school students.
1982 The church property is sold.  Six acres on the north side of the city are secured.  Classes open at present location with grades 1-12.
1983 A Kindergarten class is added.
1994 Our name officially changes to Hope Christian Schools, Inc.
1997 The elementary campus is established west of the main campus.
2001 The purchasing of surrounding parcels of land begins.
2006 The construction on the Middle School campus begins
2007 The Middle School building dedicated and opens doors to grades 6-8. 
2010 The Elementary Expansion project gets underway.
