At Hope Middle School, we educate the whole child according to our mission to pray for, equip, and send Christ-centered, passionate leaders to change the world.
We know that students at this age need to be challenged academically and spiritually. Our curricula are challenging and we offer honors’ classes in mathematics for grades 6th-8th and honors’ science for 8th grade. In addition to weekly chapel services and Bible classes, each middle school student attends a spiritual retreat at the beginning of the school year, offering time away to be still, get focused, and draw closer to the Lord.
Students also take physical education as a part of their schedule at our middle school. This helps each of our young people learn about different sports and about displaying Christ-like sportsmanship, whether we are training future athletes or passionate spectators!
Student council, art, pep band, and other team-building programs are also a part of the middle school experience here at Hope. We offer students the opportunity to explore finding the gifts God has given.
The HCS Middle School theme for the 2011-2012 school year is based on Philippians 2:14-16: Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. (Philippians 2:14-16, ESV).
We have 400 plus beams of light (students) that the Lord will use to His glory as we are faithful and diligent to prepare these lights to shine!
