The Dawg House wishes to honor the memory of a great warrior and protector, Zam—our official Husky mascot for many years. Rescued and raised by a long-time Hope family (at the request of Mr. David Eggers), Zam served as an official symbol for Hope Huskies at a number of Hope events for many years. His picture has been used in the Dawg House, in various photographs, and on the Hope Christian Student Agenda. In his younger days, Zam attended games and even contributed a “Husky Howl” to the cheerleaders and players, delighting spectators.
Zam was faithful and dedicated in his role as warrior and protector and was unwilling to leave his “post" as defender of his family, and his territory. His example of devotion, faithfulness, and attention to duty exemplifies the characteristics of our own Husky logo. He was indeed alert, focused, forward-facing, ready for a challenge, and was loving, faithful, and respected by all who knew him.
