Hope Christian Middle School began a new program called “Caught Being Third” at the beginning of the 2009 / 10 school year to give recognition to those students who are serving as positive role models in the school and let them know that we notice the good things they are doing.  

The title comes from the Biblical mandate of honor by putting God first, others second, and ourselves third.

• When a faculty or staff member sees a student doing something positive for someone else, they will complete a recognition form and the student's names will be displayed on HCTV. 
   
• When students see their name listed, they may come to the office to receive a small reward.  You may let a student know when you are filling out a slip for them, or let them be surprised.  They will receive the slip when we come to pick up their reward.
  
  
• Examples of behaviors you might list would include (but not be limited to) the following:  finding $ and turning it in, volunteering to help with a task,  cleaning up another’s mess, sharing, etc…

Extracurricular Accomplishments

Hope kids are also involved in lots of extra-curricular activities, whose off-campus accomplishments we may not always hear about.  So, we have created a forum for parents and teachers to let us know such accomplishments. 

Whether your child is gifted in performing arts, or has been recognized for his/her athletic abilities on a club team, or is involved in serving the community in a special way, we would like to hear about it!

Your submissions will be received by your child's campus principal for review and subsequently appear on the web site.
