Auction Guidelines
Online Bidding:
Click "Email your bid" to submit your highest bid on a particular item, or use the "BUY IT NOW" price on the items marked as eligible for BUY IT NOW. The web site will be updated daily to reflect which BUY IT NOW items are no longer available for purchase.
With the exception of the BUY IT NOW ITEMS, all bids will be kept private until March 26th. At 12 noon March 26th, the highest bidder and bid amount will be listed on top of the Luncheon/Silent Auction Bid Sheets (Silent Auction is Friday, March 27th).
At the Auction/Luncheon:
In the spirit of giving for HCS, feel free to offer your highest bid online before the items are offered at the luncheon on March 27. Of course, “Buy Now” items are exclusive to the online auction. If you are a luncheon bidder and recognize the name of a Hope Teacher or Staff Member (who is an online bidder and not attending the luncheon because they are on campus serving our kids) on the bid sheet and would like to bless them, you could bid up the item(s) and purchase the item(s) on their behalf, declare this at auction checkout and PSF can deliver the item(s) for you or surprise them yourself!
Determining winning bidders:
After the Auction is closed out on March 27th, the highest bidder (live or on-line) on the bidding sheet will be contacted to pay for the item(s).
In case of a “tie”:
If we receive multiple BUY IT NOW emails for the same item, the person whose email was date/time stamped first will "win" and be contacted. The same will apply for the other items. If there is a "tie" for the highest bid on any item, the person whose bid was received first will "win".
Paying for items:
Cash, Check, Visa or Mastercard [credit cards will be subject to an additional 2.04% fee] payments will be accepted and winning bidders present at the event may pay and take their items from the auction table. Winning “BUY IT NOW” online bidders will be contacted via email for coordination of payment and delivery of their items immediately.
Tax Deductions:
If there is a positive difference between the sales price paid and the stated value of an auction item, it can be considered a tax-deductible donation to HCS. Thank you for support of the silent auction and Hope Christian School.
